Express Logic To Present Paper on SMP Version of ThreadX RTOS for ARM MPCore at DevCon 2005

Express Logic — September 30, 2005

ARM Developers Conference, Santa Clara, CA, October 3, 2005— Express Logic, Inc., the worldwide leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), will be presenting two technical papers at the 2005 ARM Developers Conference in Santa Clara, CA, October 4-6, 2005. The ARM Developers Conference (DevCon) is an annual event aimed at embedded system developers designing products based on ARM-licensed architectures. Express Logic is a leader in RTOS technologies for ARM-based architectures, with its popular ThreadX RTOS used widely by developers worldwide, and is a Platinum Sponsor of the event

Express Logic will present the first of its two papers, “Analysis of an SMP RTOS for ARM’s MPCore Multiprocessor,” on Wednesday, October 5th, at 10:15 AM in room 209. This paper will explore Express Logic’s approach to the adaptation of the ThreadX RTOS in support of ARM’s new MPCore multiprocessor. Express Logic will discuss the benefits of the automatic load-balancing that ThreadX/SMP brings to computationally demanding applications.

On Thursday, October 6, Express Logic will present a second paper, “Network Stack and File System Awareness With ARM’s RealView Debugger” at 9:15 AM in room 212. This paper will discuss unique extensions to ARM’s RealView debugger that provide insight into the internal data structures of Express Logic’s NetX™ TCP/IP network stack, and its FileX® embedded file system.

Express Logic will exhibit its ThreadX, NetX™, FileX®, and USBX™ products in the Express Logic Booth, #502. Express Logic’s textbook, “Real-Time Embedded Multithreading With ARM and ThreadX,” will be on display and available in the Express Logic booth. The book’s author, Dr. Ed Lamie, will be present to discuss its contents and to autograph copies for visitors.

Express Logic also will be exhibiting in cooperation with Wind River (Booth #602) and will present two product seminars in the Wind River partner theater. As a special bonus, Express Logic and Wind River are co-sponsoring free Wireless Internet Access throughout the DevCon event. This complimentary service is available to attendees and exhibitors alike in the exhibit area and all classrooms.

“ARM is an extremely important architecture for us with the majority of our customers using the combination of ARM and ThreadX for their device development,” noted William E. Lamie, president of Express Logic. “From our largest customers, like HP, to our many other smaller customers, there are hundreds of ARM-based designs contributing to our over 200 million deployed units. We look forward to this second annual ARM DevCon, and we invite all those considering ARM for their next device development project to stop by our Booth #502 and learn how ThreadX can help them bring their product to market.”
